If pan is thick enough and has a cover may work as a dutch oven but likely best to cut up chicken and simmer or fry.
Most of the energy star and other energy and water savings rebates in my area come from my utilitySome of them are tied to replacing an energy hog with an efficient item and others are just for purchasing the itemI would look to see if your local utilities have a website with rebate forms and information or call themYou can also check with the installers, they may have already passed on some rebates in the costThe only federal tax credits I am aware of are for solar panels and hybrid cars.
