Does anyone know a brand of clear resin that dries relatively fast? Maybe like in an hour instead of 24? I've used Castin Craft resin and EasyCast, but those need 24 hours to set. Im hoping for something faster since I need to put things in between coats. Maybe something by Smooth-On?Thanks!
No, not all of them have batteries. I'm not sure what good a detector is that doesn't have a battery, but mine don't have them either. It sounds as if you need a new one.
No. My smoke alarm does not have batteries and I can find no requirement for a battery back-up. What is the likelihood that there is a fire at the same time there is a electrical outage?
All smoke detectors have 9 volt batteries, hardwired or not. If you don't see the battery inside the cover, look for a compartment on the sides of it.
Most of the jeweler's grade resin is plenty safe after it is cured. I would not recommend drinking the resin in it's liquid form at all, but otherwise it is very safe. There are plenty of videos on youtube. Try looking up the colores resin they have quite a few videos. I have been using the colores resin for over a year now. I have had great success with it. As for the beads, you can make beads with the resin if you use silicone molds. you could also cast then carve. I love working with metal. Making Metal Beads: Techniques, Projects, Inspiration by Pauline Warg is a great book to work from.
Reasons for chirping: 1) 120 volt power loss 2) battery voltage low 3) detector has aged 10 years since put into service 4) malfunction in alarm Fixing chirping: 1) restore 120 volt power (reset breaker. since only one is complaining, this should not be your problem) 2) replace battery (almost all hold a battery. look for a sliding door on the front or an eject button on the back side) 3) or 4) replace old unit (make sure new unit is the same brand) If you want to experiment, swap it out with a different one in the house. Then you'll know if it's the alarm or the location.
