Question:

does lifting weights affect height?

Im 14 and curl a 20 pounder. I am only 4ft 10 inchs. Does lifting this affect me

Answer:

Unless you are lifting cars you should be fine. Science has not proven that lifting weights stunt your growth. 14 is a good age to start lifting. Good luck! :)
As far as I know, lifting too much for your size can actually limit and prolong your growth. 20 pounds doesn't seem like too much, but I wouldn't go crazy.

Exercise and lifting weights do not affect your growth or height. That is a myth it is not true. If you are doing squats with very heavy weights you may harm the growth plates, but curls can not possible hurt you in any way.
