Question:

does ph matter in the removal of carpet stain?

what does it really matter? does it has to have a high ph level to clean carpet?

Answer:

Hi Carpet has to sit at a PH of 7.5, which is neutral. If you use a carpet spotter with a high PH you will slowly lift the PH of the carpet and that can cause the carpet to turn brown or black. If you use a product with a low PH you can cause a carpet to turn yellow or red. This is the reason pet urine stain (high PH) go yellow and vinegar (low PH) is used to bring the PH of the carpet back to neutral. Over the years of carpet cleaning, I’ve seen carpet that have been destroyed by using the wrong PH product. From a carpet cleaner of 14 years
Yes, you may destroy it by using low or high pH.
