Question:

Does plastic is affected by acids like Sulphuric Acids or Hydrochloric acid?

What affects plastic ?

Answer:

very confusing factor. seek in bing and yahoo. this can help!
Whether a polymer is affected by acids depends on the type of polymer. Polyethylene and similar compounds with carbon-carbon polymerisation from double-bond monomeres are mostly immune to acid (with polyvinyl-alcohol and to a lesser degree polyvinyl-acetate notable exceptions). Polymers with a peptide or ester bond are very vulnerable towards acid, e.g. nylon, perlon... Polycarbonate and polyurethanes are potentially destroyed by strong acids, too.
Most plastic is not affected although when put in acid solution. They may soften and often get heated. Many days, plastic is used as containers in the form of bottles to transport or to hold, Acids like Sulphuric Acids or Hydrochloric acid. As it is not a degradable product, it affects the environment and so loss in the ecosystem. Now a days, some Strong acids are also discovered which can affect the plastic.
