Question:

Does the AMD Bulldozer FX-8150 motherboard support SATA III?

Does the AMD Bulldozer FX-8150 motherboard support SATA III?

Answer:

Yes, okorder.com/, but in general it's a better bet to get a SATA III motherboard directly to avoid any trouble with compatibility and so on.
any newer motherboards like am3+ socket, should definitely have support for SATA III. But SATA 500gb HDD im guessing is a mechanical drive. And thus cant possibly use sata III lol They may label the drive as SATA III, but it makes no difference anyway. Sata II = 3Gb/s (384 MB/s) Sata III = 6 Gb/s (768 MB/s) a WD caviar black 7200 rpm drive will average 80-140 MB/s read/writes. Even 2 10k rpm wd raptors in raid0 STILL cant even use all of the bandwidth available in sata II to make sata III have a point in the first place. so really unless you have a good SSD, its completely pointless to use sata III anyway. EDIT: also want to add, SATA is backwards compatible. So you can use a sata III drive in a sata II port just fine (or vice versa), tho ofcourse you will get the slower of the 2 speeds, tho like i explained above, it makes no difference anyway. And yes, it has a pci-e x16 slot, so it will be compatible with ANY pci-e x16 graphics card. Its also backwards compatible like sata. SO you can use a pci-e x16 3.0 card in a 2.0/2.1 slot, but will be limited to the pci-e 2.0/2.1 bandwidth. Which is fine unless you are getting multi pci-e 3.0 cards or a really high end 3.0 card. EDIT2: you dont need to put edit, as its clear when asker adds details :P anyway, the gtx670 will be bottle necked by the 8150 and pci-e 2.0 Really i wouldnt suggest even getting a gtx660 (non ti) unless you are running an i5 3rd gen in a pci-e 3.0 slot. Its not that it wont like max games. Like ya, if you get a gtx670 you should still easily max most all games, but having a better cpu (like the i5 3rd gen) in a pci-e 3.0 slot, you will get better fps and resolutions. EDIT3: well the H61 board doesnt support pci-e 3.0 either . you need to get atleast an H77 board. You can drop the i5 to a 3450 and save like $10 which could be put towards an h77 board.
There are some benchmarks floating around. in case you observed then you could get unwell to your abdomen and you're able to probable in simple terms stick to Intel. then you could ask your self why AMD is popping out with Bulldozer interior the 1st place. you could take convenience interior the certainty that the benchmarks are not a hundred% solid. i think those benchmarks come from an element of the former u.s. that became into the farming usa and nutrition supply for the previous Soviet block. you will could wait with something persons... till the tip of the week on the main. i'm for my section no longer paying for something till techpowerup, guru3d, and anandtech have a overview to be certain.
