Question:

Does this sound like IBS!?

I'm a 17 year old femaleFor a year now, I've been struggling with random bouts of diarrheaIt's the worst it's even been now:( 2 weeks ago, on a Sunday night, I had to leave my job as a cashier for the evening early because I had diarrhea at workI came home and couldn't stop using the bathroomI didn't go again until the following Thurs nightI started a normal bowl movement and had to keep returning to the bathroom because of diarrheaI flew out of the state the next day for vacation, and I went 6 days without going number 2I figured this was because of traveling, so I woke up the next morning and drank a fee cups of coffee for caffeine, then the diarrhea hit me again :( every day after that I had itWhen returned I had normal bowl movementsI've been home for 6 days and today at school I had to use the bathroom really badI didn't go because it was the highschool public restroomI came home, went like normal, now I have diarrhea nonstop :( help! What do you think?

Answer:

due to the valence electronsin order for the species to be neutral it takes 2 Al's and 3 O'si hoep you know what valence electrons are or how to find outlook at the columns on the periodic table and you fill find its charge.
Al has a valence of 3 , Oxygen has a valency of 2So this give 6 positive ions (Al) 6 negative ions from the 3 oxygen this forms a stable compound
The valence (charge) on an oxygen atom is -2, and on an Aluminum atom is +3In order to create a stable molecule, they need to balance out for a net charge of zeroThere's no way 2 goes evenly into 3, but if you double 3 (and thus use 2 aluminum atoms), you can fit 3 2's into it (that is, 3 oxygen atoms)Thus, 2 aluminum atoms plus 3 oxygen atoms makes a stable molecule, because 2 aluminum atoms have a net charge of +6, and 3 oxygen atoms have a net charge of -6.
