Question:

driver car door wont unlock with key, but will lock?

The battery to my fob is out so i have been using the key to unlock my doors to my car. recently, whenever i put the key in the door and try to unlock it, it turns but doesnt unlock. there's no little click feeling. it just turns smoothly and doesnt do anything. when i turn it the other way, however, there is a click feeling so the lock works fine but not the unlock. i have been having to unlock my car via the passenger door.Any ideas of what might cause this or if it is expensive to fix?

Answer:

This Have a great day! I'm just sayin'!
I have used aluminum can crushers, and they are very messy. All of the ones that I have used would not crush a tin can.
those are 'lightning rods' they are connected to the ground they are conductors lightning strikes when the charge difference between cloud and ground becomes large enough (high enough voltage) to jump from one to the other the sharp tips of lightning rods concentrate the charge on them an therefore allow the charge to 'leak' off rather rapidly the hope is that enough charge will be dissipated that no strike will occur and that if a strike does occur, it will be considerably less energetic than without the rods presence so the rods are not there to attract lightning rather their purpose is to largely prevent strikes
My guess is that it's to attract lightning bolts to that area rather than having them hit the ground, I'm sure I'm wrong though :p
