Question:

Engine knock after installed cold air intake?

I recently installed a cold air intake on my 2007 3.0 V6 Ford Ranger. When I rev the engine to 3000 rpm the engine knocks. Maybe a bad seal? Please help.

Answer:

Make sure your mass-air flow sensor is install properly with the arrow pointing to the throttle body. Make sure your clamps are tight and the four bolts holding the sensor are tight if you had a gasket make sure its placed right and not leaking air. If there is any leak pass the sensor to the throttle body you will have issues.
