Question:

Exhaust bearings... Where do I get them?

Took my car to a local shop today b/c I thought I heard a funny noise. Mechanic said my exhaust bearings were bad... He said I needed 2 new ones and they were 150 each plus labor. Estimate of $500 for everything. Anyone know where I can get them cheaper? Or are they always this much? Thanks

Answer:

There's no such thing as exhaust bearings. Someone is trying to rip you off. I hope this is a joke post.
The only car I've known to have exhaust bearings also had a flux capacitor! That is what makes time travel possible in a Delorian!
What an as# this is why people hate mechanics. There is no such thing and If I were not a mechanic myself I would deck this *** This guy gives real mechanics a bad name
I saw them on a shelf at a parts store next to the additive for winter air in the tires. Right behind the metric screwdrivers. Sounds like a repair shop is trying to make some extra Christmas money. BEWARE!!!!!
You can get them at any auto parts store, or even Wal-mart. They should be on the shelf next to the blinker fluid. There is no such thing as exhaust bearings!!! There is no such thing as exhaust bearings!!! There is no such thing as exhaust bearings!!! There is no such thing as exhaust bearings!!! There is no such thing as exhaust bearings!!! There is no such thing as blinker fluid either! Get a new mechanic!
