I was thinking about cutting my exhaust right before the muffler and running a straight pipe. Can I do that?
No you can't because you need a muffler. But try this if you know how to weld 1) cut the muffler off the system 2) open the muffler and remove the inner workings 3) weld it back together 4) put if back on the car with the hole on top (for it not to be seen) 5) you now have straight pipe with mufflers (legally) ENJOY
Straight pipes were outlawed in the 1970's. They sure sound cool, tho.
