Experimental Question: Why am I getting white rings when I fuse quartz tubing?

I am using fused-quartz for an experiment, but when I fuse the end of a quartz tube, it cools down with a white quot;ringquot; a couple millimeters above where I had it in the hot flame. Is this an impurity in the tubing, or is it possible for the quartz to have been changed into a way where it is not a translucent crystal (and impurities aren't the issue)? It's important to me to know, because I will be using this tubing in instrument which detects a paramagnetic signal, and I do not want this quot;white ringquot; to perhaps be an indication that there was an impurity in the glass.

Answer:

Quartz is generally a cleansing sort of crystal, while rose quartz is often used to attract romance.
Uh, you have a piece of jewelry? It's a rock, nothing more.
It tells other the other primates in your tribe that your are wealthy enough to spend money on meaningless personal decorations.
There are no benefits, it just makes you look like a bigger idiot than you already are. I'm having sex right now, come talk to me when I'm not banging yo momma, bytch!!!
