explain why glass ceramics are generally not transparent.?
Glass like ceramics still contain clay like solids that are captured in the vitrification and these prevent the light from passing through. The clay is what makes them ceramics.
A bee bottle could work. I have seen it been done on stage.
IR can't pass through it, but UV can.
