I have a dance recital coming up and we have some very unstable chairs in the dance, some of the time I have to stand on them. I'm nervous I'll fall off? Any tips for carefully yet quickly getting on top of an unstable chair?
i'd practice at homee. just step on and off of a random chairr. try not to step on it too forcefully. step somewhat in the middle of the chair so it doesn't end up falling to the side or something. also, if you practice your dance a lot at the studio, you can get use to stepping on an off.
BEEN THERE! We did a dance with wobbly bar stools, and another with wobbly folding chairs. The best thing you can do is make sure you do the routine full out in class so you get more comfortable using it. You can't go on stage looking scared.
OMG!! get out of there now! I'd suggest taking the shorts off, but... maybe it won't be a good idea to go out to the street half-naked... So maybe you should just have some Eggnog, strip off and accept your fate, I mean, there is no way you'll ever survive the old wheel chair AND Hercules, err--the immortal fly.
Experiment with one of those chairs when you have a chance. Kick it, push it, see what makes it fall over. Usually, if you land your weight directly in the middle and coming from the top the chair won't fall over. Landing on the edge could be bad.
I don't think they would give you chairs that would fall. Just don't focus on falling, that will make you even more nervous. If you're just standing on them and not dancing, then I think you'll live. :] Good luck!
