Question:

Is a baby bouncer chair worth it ?

I'm debating on buying a baby bouncer chair for my baby boy who is due in December..but is it worth it or you can use something else..

Answer:

I wish someone had told me what is needed and what is just wanted , I got a high chair, bouncy chair, swing, basinet , stroller and only used the stroller a couple of times and the other stuff never got used. I carried my son in a sling 24/7 and he slept with me at night. I had a shower chair for him (walmart, like 10 dollars) and he showered with me everyday, when he started walking at 10 months, I started having him walk with me when I went to the store etc., I only started using the stroller at that time and for when he was sleepy and we were out. You really don't need much for a baby. I know with all of the gadgets and gizmos and advertising out there, it's easy to think it's all necessary, that's definately what I thought. :D
Personally, I would say get one. My 2 month old nephew LOVES his bouncer. It often gets him to stop crying when nothing else will. I've also learned they are great for little power naps when you don't want to move them to the crib or if they are staying the night with someone who doesn't have a crib and you would prefer them not to co-sleep. Warning though, don't put your baby in it after they are circumcised. Wait until your son has healed up down there or he will be sore from the bouncer. If you don't want to buy one put it on your registry for the baby shower. They aren't too expensive at Wal-Mart. If you don't get it at the baby shower look around at garage or yard sales, ask friends if they have any from when their baby was younger, or look at consignment shops like Goodwill or Once Upon a Child.
I'm 16 weeks pregnant with my fourth child and to be honest with you I think their useless. With my first son I bought one and I never used it so I never bought one again for my other children. When they were newborns I always used the bassinet or baby swing. All my kids loved the baby swing and it helped put them to sleep. I'm sure a lot of people love bouncers and it helps them but I just never found any use for it.
i would buy one. my daughter is 4 months old and we bought both a bouncer and a swing. the swing is still great for getting her to sleep when she's really tired. when she was about 10 weeks she would get really gassy and fussy at night and i would have to jump around and bounce her for hours at a time some nights.. the bouncer chair was a godsend because i could just sit on the couch and bounce her with my foot and she was satisfied :) they're not expensive at all either. we got ours for $20 brand new.. had a wind-up mobile too! we're still using it to this day and she can bounce herself now :)
A bouncer chair is an awesome thing to have. It is one of the few places my son would sleep when he wasn't sleeping on me. Also it comes in handy if your baby has acid reflux and they need to sleep sitting up in a reclined position. I have 2 bouncer chairs and the one grows with the child. So when their 2 years old they can rock in or or just recline and play with a book or something like that. My parents bought it at Walmart for around $40. My son loves both of them and he is now almost 9 months and still sits in both of them. They also work if you just want to feed your child in like your living room or somewhere like that if you don't want to buy a highchair right away or you don't have the room for one. My son did have acid reflux so after he at we could either hold him upright for awhile or we could sit him in the bouncer and turn on the vibrate and he would pass out. You can find them in all range of prices so just find the best one you like and get it. You will be glad you did in the long run. Good luck.
