A question for the guitar pros amongst the Yahoo Answers community. What is the difference between different Strats? I'm not talking about the made in Mexico ones but the American onesFirst off, what are the key differences between the standards, the deluxe's and the vintage's? I know it's to do with the pick ups, trim etc, but what does it all mean? And is an HSS worth the buy or is it frowned upon by arch strat lovers?Secondly, what is the difference between a 60's, 70's, 80's strat etc? Sorry for being a noobI'm interested though!Cheers.
What it all means is feel and toneThrough the years Fender has changed the neck radius, the head stock, pickups, If you want a humbucker in the bridge position its not a sinBut most blues players I believe prefer single coils in all positionsYou can purchase pickups that are humbuckers that look like single coils alsoStandards are what they say they are standard production model, deluxe may include a different set of pickups from the standard or neck radius etcVintage reissues are generally custom shop reissues of strats from years gone by where significant changes to the guitar made them different from the others54,57,62 etcthey are replicas of the old onesTrue Vintage are the actual guitar from the year they were built and are VERY expensive nowadays, 50's - 60's strats command a large price tag.
