No its not the batteries, we changed them a while back.I was cooking and there was soem smoke..it started to beep so i pressed the hush button.(I never pressed it before)..and now it's beeping..what do I do?

No they just want you to pay for those things for them. Like there health care. Besides those things come from wal mart not petroleum. THey also think food comes from grocery stores not farms, ranches and feed lots.
Oil companies will never truly be eliminated. The individual demands may taper off as the price of oil becomes more competitive with other technologies (bio-fuels or battery technology in the case of cars). For the benefits it provides, oil is still very cheap.
For immediate relief you should use a plunger. But first make sure you don't have a simple easy to reach blockage. Right below the surface of the sink drain you should have a simple strainer. Sometimes hair (especially long hair) will collect on the strainer and because the hair will hang down and out of sight it may not be noticeable without a very close inspection. First remove the sink stopper and then with your thumb and forefinger reach down and feel for it. If hair is present simply grasp and pull and repeat the process until it's all gone. Another possibility is that someone dropped something into the sink and it washed down to the strainer (i.e. a bottle cap). If the above suggestions don't help you might want to have a plumber clean out the pipe.
