Question:

Fire alarms in college?

Just out of curiosity, are the residence hall fire alarms in college usually in the rooms, or just in the hallways. Smoke detectors don't count. I'm talking about the actual fire alarm that sounds like a bull horn or electric bell. What do you have in your current room, alarm or no alarm?

Answer:

For water lines, 1/2, 3/4 and 1. For drains, 1-1/4, 1-1/2 and 2. Drain fittings are labeled DWV (drainage, waste and vent). Fittings include 90 degree elbows, 45 degree elbow and 22-1/2 degree elbows. water fittings are normally 90, and 45 degrees. You will also need Tees for the water supply lines and drainage fittings. Couplings in all sizes are also needed.

Pvc pipe should be stocked in 1/2,3/4,1,11/4,11/2,2,3,4(schedule 40). Cpvc(hotcold) pipe should be stocked in 1/2 3/4. Fittings should include couplings, male and female adapters, tees, elbows (45* 90*), tees. Sewer drain pipe ( Thin wall) should be stocked in 34. Stock both solid and perforated. This pipe requires different fittings because schedule 40 fittings won't work on this type of pipe.
