Question:

Fire alarms inside dorms?

Hi Yahoo. I know this sounds ridiculous but I plan on going to college for 4 years and I wanted to know if there are fire alarms inside dorms or just the buildings. I have a huge phobia of emergency lights and fire alarms.. I know silly.. but please answer my question

Answer:

If you mean a smoke detector, and it is in your apartment and not in the common area, then it is generally your responsibility unless that landlord has explicitly agreed to be responsisble for the batteries. If you are asking if the law is same in every part of the world, from the jungle to New York city, the answer is no. In most places, your responsibilities are dependent upon your agreement, your lease, and not on some law.
Is your detector a combo smoke and carbon monoxide detector? If so, maybe it's reading high levels of c.m. Either way, it may be a good idea to have the c.m. readings check out.
Okay, you made me laugh out loud, and I needed a laugh so here it goes! Make the basic shape of your fish with wires. Then cover the wires with thin upholstery foam Cut, layer and and carve it into a fish shape, using fine wires to sew it to the wire understructure. Use neoprene fabric as the outer layer, it's used for wet suits. You won't be able to sit in this, which is Okay since barracudas don't use chairs. For the teeth go to a nature store, where they sell rocks and crystal growing kits and educational toys, they sell shark teeth. Use crazy glue to glue the teeth onto the foam at the mouth. Yes, I know you aren't a shark, but these are easily available. If you want to paint on scales, use a sparkly fabric paint from the craft store. This is my favourite Barracuda! video.google.ca/videoplay?docid- The people who make costumes for parades just use hardware store wires. Sometimes they also use flexible tubes that are used for conduits for situations that flexibility is needed. . And yes, neoprene will be hot, but you want waterproof, remember? The alternative, rubber sheeting, is far hotter. Perhaps waterproof isn't the way to go, perhaps you need ventilation somewhere. really, you are asking for a bit much, mr Barracuda. If this is for a parade or as a mascot, or a party animal certain compromises will be needed. If this were simply something like the WKRP carp, then gluing together thin upholstery foam and using spray paint would work, the foam would hold its shape. You'd look like a very spiffy barracuda, but you won't be able to swim. Otherwise you might need to go to someone who makes wet suits and scuba gear and ask if they can make one shaped like a fish, but that would be horribly expensive. this is why I prefer furries to fish. give a furry something soft and cuddly with bright eyes and they are happy.
