Question:

First motorcycle wipe out?

Do you remember your first day ever to ride a motorcycle? what did you feel? did you wipe out at all? or what was your first wipe out or wreck? My first day ever to ride was at the Harley davidson riders edge msf course. we were riding 500cc buell blasts and it was hella fun. about the final hour of riding, were were practicing weaving and i was going about 30 and i leaned too far back on the bike cuz i felt a bit cramped and the front tire went up like a wheelie lol. it came down on me and landed sideways on my left leg so at least i sorta stayed on it still. ill never forget it, i was so excited when the instructors ran over to me i was smiling all big lol. i even got a souvenier, a broken turn light cover. i got back on after talking to the people and kept on riding and passed the course with flyin stars. but anyways that was my first day ever, it was great, and im getting my first bike quite soon. any stories of your first wipe out or day of riding will be appreciated :)

I remember my first ride 4 1/2 years ago. I was trash talking with a buddy about bikes. I had never rode before or even touched a bike but he thought I did. Turns out he had a Ninja ZX6 he never rides and offered to let me use his since I claimed to love bikes so much. To make a long story short, he threw me the keys and left for work out of town for the weekend. I fumbled around in the parking lot for about 5 minutes figuring out how to start it and change gears. I rode 100 miles on the interstate to get home. I rode sun up to sun down the entire weekend and after work about 3 hours all the next week. Never dropped it, and never made anybody else drop. (Thanks to God) I love telling that story because everybody claims you need an MSF and you have to start on a Ninja 250. A 600CC is a true starter sport bike. That 250 is a scooter with sport bike plastics!
I been riding off and on for years before I had my first real wipe out on a bike, And of all things it was a little moped. I was have a get together at my house was I was about 21 still brand new to the Army all my army buddies where there drink beer and eating some Bar B Que. I stated talking about buying a bike when my next door neighbor said I could ride the moped he had in his shed if I want to ride so bad. SO MY DUMB buttttt shelf, said OK I took it out down the road with a smoke in one had and a beer in the other I didn't even make it ten ft down the dirt road before I ended up in the ditch and up in to the woods. I heard about it for weeks. But I healed and learned that no matter what the size bike It can hurt you if you don't respect it.
I started riding about 10 years ago. On a little honda twinstar. moved up to some older faster bikes. I then started racing on the drag strip. My first wipeout was going through the finish line at about 220k's. Then bike went into a speed wobble. I thought i had the bike saved so I applied the front brake, it immedietly threw me off the bike. I remember seeing ground-sky-ground-sky-groung-sky. That was me rolling to a stop. As I got up i started running to my bike (which was on it's side down the track), the ambulance pulled up. I then realized i had a broken collar bone, and gravel filled road rash. I thank my simpson helmet for keeping me alive. Never cheap out on a helmet!!!! I still have it on display in my bedroom to remind me how lucky I am to be alive.
