Question:

Ford ZX2 Automatic Transmission problem?

I have a 2001 Ford ZX2 with an automatic transmission the car has 130,000 miles. When I first start the car in the mornings and put it into drive when it goes to **** it just revs up real high and I have to let off of the gas and stop and then start out again. I noticed its shifting kind of hard with a jerk recently. I checked the fluid and its brown with bubbles. Does anyone know what the problem might be??

Answer:

change fluid, dont get a flush fluid should be light red, almost pink not brown
At 129,000 miles just how many times have you had the transmission fluid and filter changed? If the answer is none, you are 4 times overdue. Have the trans serviced with new filter and fluid, your shifting problem will probably improve, fluid breaks down over time and Escort is past due for a change.
I have the same exact car but mine's a 2003. I have the same problem sometimes. You should get your transmission fluid changed. My transmission went to crap at about the 45,000 mile mark. That's pretty bad. I got it rebuilt twice because I couldn't afford a new one and now I still have problems with it. Until the engine gets warm, the transmission bumps between gears. Definitely take it to a garage and have them look at it. It just sounds like the transmission needs fixed. Oh yeah, transmission fluid should be bright red, definitely not brown.
porcelain is a finer grained clay, it will fire hotter, when fully fired it holds water without glaze because the particles bond more closely, it also shrinks more, if you cast a mold in porcelain and then in ceramic clay, they porcelain one will be noticably smaller after the final fireing. ceramic is cheaper. porcelain you can pour thin enough that you can see light through it but ceramic you cant. porcelain is stronger because of its density too.
