Question:

front loader washer vs. top loader?

I have heard negative and positive. Top loaders are more efficient, but they wear out faster. Would you please give me some advice? Thanks

Answer:

I haven't heard that one takes longer then the other but i do know that front load washers do a better job n don't damage your dedicates i always got lil tiny holes in my t-shirts n under garments from my top loader n since i switched i haven't had that problem
The fact that I have to bend all the way in the washer to pull my clothes out to throw in the dryer is enough for me to stay away from them.I have a bad back and neck and the dryer alone kills me to do this so I say forget about it..
Front loaders require the more expensive HE detergents. They also do not drain well and get to stinking because they do not dry out. You need to leave the door open to help prevent them from stinking. Bad luck with door seals also. Go Top Load for less headaches. Good luck,
i had a front loader for about a year and a half. i sold it and went back to a top load. the front loader was a pain... the door would lock and not reopen when the cycle was done, the clothes would smell after just leaving them overnight, if you put a ton of clothes in (as they always say you can stuff it) the seal would not close right and leak all over the floor. it was just not worth the hassle. they make more efficient top loaders now, so that's the way i'd go...
