Question:

Gas boiler - am I in danger?

For many hours our gas boiler has been 'running' (ie. making the sound as if it's working), since the heating was supposedly on, but I just went to check it as the house is still freezing and it turns out that there was no flame in the boiler. Is this dangerous? When the boiler sounds like it's running, is there any gas going through it that could potentially leak or explode of the boiler ignites again?I'm quite worried as we also have no firealarms working in the house (rubbish landlord...) and don't want to die in my sleep :(

Answer:

No danger, your boiler its out of gas (fuel) and your thermostat its calling for heat. I may need more info on your boiler.
No danger. Maybe your pilot is out? Need more info on the boiler to help.
