Gas copper reaction question??

In the reaction of hydrogen gas with aqueous copper (II) sulfate for from copper metal and sulfuric acid, which element is reduced? Which is oxidized?Hydrogencoppersulfuroxygen

Answer:

Copper (II) ion --> Copper atom Cu^2+ --> Cu The oxidation number changed from +2 to 0, thus copper (II) ion is reduced. Hydrogen gas --> Hydrogen ion H2 --> 2 H^+ The oxidation number changed from 0 to +1, thus hydrogen molecule is oxidized. *Sulphate ion, SO4^2-(Sulphur and oxygen) didn't went through any changes, thus didn't undergoes redox. (oxidation/reduction)
