Question:

going over speed bumps?

Is it ok to drive like 10 mph over normal speed bumps? does it damage the shocks? Or is it just better to go 0 over them? and at school, there is a 20mph speed limit and the speed bumps are very long, know what im talking about? you could easily go 20mph over it, which i do sometimes and the car just goes up then down real fast since it is a really long speedbump. Is it okay to go that fast? will it damage the shocks? There are two, so i go over 4 speedbumps per day in a 2011 avalon, sooo will the speedbumps eventually wear out the shocks or can i still go 20mph over them everyday?

Answer:

we only do 2 before aerobics or running. all that other stuff no.
There are any number of good snow tires on the market today. Most offer tires that can be studded. Chains are noisy - beat the crap out of pavement - should not be used at speeds over 45 MPH !! And where I live grit salt are useless because it's too cold and it just blows off the road anyway.
