Me an my dad are lookin for gold in quartz we found in our back yard because the creek behind our house is where some big pieces were found a long time ago do we would like to put it into powder form to pan it and we did a little but were loosing alot of the quartz hitting it with a hammer and we would like to do it with te resources at home ad when we do pan it it does have black sand so how would you do it and what's the best way to? Worth is a relative term. Since quartz is the name of a family of gems, it's difficult to answer your question with any accuracy. If what you have is a plain white (clear) quartz crystal, if its not too chipped up it could be worth $100.00 or more.
