Question:

Good Exhaust System for 1998 Mitsubishi 3000gt Base Model?

I got a 1998 3000GT. Its the base model, not the suped up VR-4. Ive been lookin at exhaust system for a little while and im havin some trouble deciding. I see Borla alot, and i also hear alot of good about Flomaster. I was thinkin about Flomaster, but now im seein Borla a hell of alot.Im looking for a nice performance headers and exhaust, and for a nice sound.Any ideas?

Answer:

flowmasters exhaust ( complete ) is expensive borla exhaust ( complete ) is hell in expensive
I would look into getting a custom exhaust made at a reputable performance shop i went that road and got a nice sounding dual outlet exhaust for about 600 including labor
On the road course or any track with twists and turns, I would bet that the Mitsu would be faster, assuming both drivers are of the same skill level. It weighs a little less, and has a sportier suspension. In a straight line I believe the 2nd gen. 3KGT's that were non- VR4 edition, did 0-60 mph in about 7.5-8 seconds depending on transmission. So that would be a fairly close race, but, just as a pure guess, I would guess the Mitsu would win but just a little bit. If the Mitsu is an automatic it may be very very close.
