The Alienware is not expensive anymore. Go for the M14x R2 with core-i5. It a an affordable gaming laptop.
try an ASUS, they give alot for reasonable prices and if not, you can build your own computer.
I would suggest you buy laptop with good features like Intel Mobile Centrino - 1.73GHz Processor, 2GB Ram Combo Drive, WiFi/Wireless, Windows XP Professional, 14.1 Inch Screen Display you can buy laptop in your budget.
