i‘m looking to get a new exhaust system but i don‘t want to replace the whole thing for speed cuz i don‘t need anymore tickets :) but i do want it to sound a little louder. i‘ve heard that the bigger the cat-back the louder the sound.is that true? or can i just get a bigger bolt on muffler tip and it‘ll sound the same instead of spending more money to replace the cat-back? any help is appreciated. thanx
LOL you like loud exhausts, I like keying cars with loud exhausts.
Replacing the muffler tip won't do squat. Yes, you need a cat-back system, which is basically just a new muffler and a few feet of pipes. This will give you a nice rumble for $300-$500. You can't really get by any cheaper than that and get anything good.
I say that if your going to redo teh exhaust, do it right. Research a catback for your vehicle and look at the exhaust systems that people put on them on youtube. That's what I do. More expensive but it sounds better, runs better,
the energizer bunny obviously.
