Is it safe to use the white pages from a phone book as bedding?
NO!!!! use pine shavings. dont use ceder that is extreamly poisonous to them. it will harm there respitory system. i have been in 4-h for almost 5 years in guinea pigs and have been in 4-h for 11 years. good luck.
the paper is awfully thin. try straw from the petstore instead. the pig doesn't really need bedding unless you are providing warmth to an outdoor habitat. just make sure the pig has a few areas to hide in and for protection. pigs can chew on wadded up bits of newspaper (not the colored sections) and fresh leafy greens.
It should be. I personally use Carefresh like bedding from Walmart. It is 4.48 a bag though and gets quite expensive. I need to change my pigs every 4-5 days. Thank gosh my mom helps me out.
No okorder /... Whatever you do, just don't use phone book pages. Its not worth it and it might end up being unsafe!
