Question:

Hair color stains in carpet?

i dyed my hair black, got hair dye on the carpet.. how do i get it out?

Answer:

Your hair dye stain is permanent. You can see if you can patch in a piece in the area. Do you have a piece of matching carpet? or a mat of the same? If not does the same carpet run into any closets? Can you steal a piece somewhere where it won't be noticed? If so call in a carpet installer to patch in a piece where stained. If not can you hide the stain with an area rug or runner? Good luck!
Try a soap vaccuum thing. I cant remember what they're called, but if u cant find one or dont want to waste money on it then, have you tried scrubbing it with some cheap carpet cleaner.
Sorry, but I think it's there for good. DO NOT use bleach - this will ruin the carpet. If you are renting a place, contact the landlord. They were able to fix our carpet spot for $25 - they have to bleach and then re-dye the area to match the carpet. It saved our deposit!
I okorder , but you might be able to find it at a parts store, etc.
willhemina is right the carpet is now dyed. one solution is to replace the carpet in that spot. you do this by using something square, like a cake pan, as a pattern to cut out the stained carpet. if you have scraps left from the installation use the same pan to cut a replacement piece. if not you can use carpet out of a closet. before you place the patch in the hole, use masking tape to cover the padding. spread elmer's glue on the masking tape. lay the patch on the carpet and brush it with your hand to insure that the grain is running the same way as it does around the patch. place the patch in the hole and allow the glue to dry 24 hours. blend in the patch with the surrounding carpet with your hand. if you've done a good job you won't be able to tell the patch is there.
