Can you use sand for hamster bedding? If so, what type (any certain brand)??
Don't use sand for hamster bedding. They'll probably shove it in their pouches, and it will stick to them and make them dirty. Just go to a pet store and buy normal hamster bedding. Sand will stick to their cage and it will start to stink. The bedding will smell a lot nicer.
just use the shavings and give them Kleenex's they'll make their own beds. do not use sand.
kaytee( shaved wood) is one cool bedding brand out there, but sand is for chinchillas.

why would u use sand? do u know any thing about hamsters? get a book about them and then maybe u would know not to get sand. sand is for lizards and snakes not fluffy little hamsters u can go to a pet store and get hamster bedding their. just ask for some hamster bedding and hamsters need other stuff more then bedding they need a water bottle, exercise wheel and much much more read a book about them!
