Having nightmare time with gas boiler and pipes. First engineer arrived and said I had burst pipe under kitchen sink unit so would hav to get joiner to dismantle unit.Got joiner in who luckily took out washing machine and flooring beneath it so you could see pipes. 2nd engineer arrived and said it was my outside gas pipe which had frozen, but as I didn't need it he disconnected it (I had two pipes under the floor). He bled my radiators and switched on gas, hey presto it was working ... for a day!Woke up this morning and no heating or hot water again - the pressure on the boiler is fine just no heat!! Phoned my gas insurance company who thankfully called the engineers quickly (compared to the 19 hours it took them when I initially called). Engineer can't come until tomorrow.Am at my wits end - feeling very ignorant as am a female on her own - does anybody have any idea why heating wouldn't be working now?
Sounds like you have a circulation problem, and this could be a number of things wrong, including air in the lines, bad pump, blockage in the lines, etc. Instead of contacting the gas company, contact a heating contractor specializing in boiler repair. Yes, the gas company and their engineers know the fundamentals of heating systems, but that's NOT their expertise; their expertise is selling you gas.
and whatever you do dont call back 2nd engineer..he obviuosly doesn't know what he's talking about...because a decent gas engineer knows GAS doesn't freeze.
the cost will determination a lot so i might want to do what I did and get some costs in first and bypass from there, i wouldn't be recommending BG or any of those large names because i recognize that they are commonly very expensive. in reality, all I did change into get some costs in from some corporations and that i went with the finest fee one which got here in from an section Manchester agency referred to as STL Heating. They were waiting to start up artwork the subsequent day and had my the gadget flushed and a clean boiler all performed in only 2 days!
this sounds like a hot water system what is the water level in the expansion tank? was the boiler warm? did any safety switches trip and need to be reset? without seeing the unit or knowing more information it is hard to answer your question to heat a house with a boiler there are several steps 1 power on to all parts (boiler, pumps, actuators low voltage controls ) 2 boiler fires heats the water and maintains proper temp 3 thermostat calls for heat 4 pump kick on or valves actuate
