Question:

Has anyone used a Rug Doctor on their carpets? What were your results?

My husband and I are expecting our first baby in February; we also rent a two story house. The baby's bedroom has white carpet but it has like... hot pink and purple stains, which I think is either marker or make-up from the prior tenants children. Would a Rug Doctor be able to get out marker/make-up stains?

Answer:

Have used Rug Doctor, in the past, with great success. I would recommend, however, trying a cheap home made remedy first. I would be afraid to use Windex because it contains ammonia and ammonia can permanently discolor the carpet. If you have any kind of shaving cream, spray that on the stain, wait, and blot up, see if that helps. If it doesn't, I would make sure that when I rented the Rug Doctor, I'd also purchase a bottle of their Rug Doctor spot remover. We used this, with the rented Rug Doctor machine and the results were fantastic. Good Luck.

Rug Doctor works great but for stains like that, it probably would not help. I have found that a simple product, Windex, or another glass cleaner with ammonia, has worked very well to make marker and dye type stains almost disappear. Worth a try, then use the rug doctor on the whole house.

i exploit a device I have been given from a storage sale. I discovered a trick from some apt vendors (250 apts at their internet site). First pretreat with Shout Use recomended cleansing soap or much less. in no way use greater cleansing soap by way of fact whether that's left in carpet it attracts airborne dirt and airborne dirt and dust Rinse with a cup or so of shout interior the rinse water by way of fact it cuts the froth of the cleansing soap so which you would be able to get it out. (Antifoam) Shout is my hero whilst it includes carpet! wish it enables
