First time buying this yarn amp; found it to be stiff, dry feeling amp; hardI wanted to make my daughter a blanket amp; thought the one pounder would be more economical than buying (10-15) 5 oz ballsIs this yarn always so rough feeling? Are there any brands of one pound yarn equal to or similar to Caron Simply Soft or Baby yarn? Is the Caron Natura softer?Thanks in advance for all answers.

I've got a Caron Pounder on my needles right nowI have used other yarns like this, and find them to be tons softer after the first washingI use fabric softener on it, and that does wondersA pound is 16 ouncesThree of the 5-ounce balls would be 15 ouncesThere's also something called Pound of Love that is a softer yarnI don't know who makes itRed Heart Soft Yarn comes in larger skeins, tooThat's the soft yarn I like best.
