Found a very old wooden chair from what I think could be the 1900s. Do you know what type of chair this is called?...how would I look it up to know its worth. The bottom of the chair has a GB or CB stamp on it. Would you know how much somthing like this would go for? Thanks :)
The style of chair is called Windsor, and this is a more rare style because of the 2 tiered back, typically its just one. The top is called a yoke back. It definately could be worth something, the letters signify a factory or workshop. It really depends, if it was a factory made chair it could have been mass produced, workshop it would have been hand made and valuable. I'd try to find a local antique dealer/appraiser and have them look at it.
Take it to a couple of art dealers and have it appraised.
sell it you might get some dough i would sell it to a few Art freaks or antique buyers try a museum
I've them in antique shops for a few hundred dollars when in good condition. do you live in the Boston area? that would look great in my 1869 house
