I must have left a pen on my cloths and ran it thru the wash and it traveled thru the dryer as well. I really need help getting it out of one uniform shirt (50% cotton, 50% polyester) there are a few spots the size of a dime. Help please, any suggestions!
Try using baby wipes. It's going to take a lot of time and a lot of wipes but it usually works. If there's a lot of ink then it may not be worth the time so just buy a new one.
Use a cheap hairspray, like Aqua-Net, and paper towels. Spray a little hairspray on a spot and blot, don't rub, with the paper towel. The hairspray should start dissolving the ink and the paper towel will absorb it. Start at the outside of the spot and work your way in. Keep spraying hairspray a little at a time. Then, when you think you have all the ink out, wash the shirt, but don't dry it in the dryer. Line dry until you know that all the ink is out. It may be a little harder since the shirt has already been through the dryer, but it should still work. Hope this helps. Good luck!
Removing ink stains from clothing is not an easy task. There are a few ways to remove the stains, and a few products that can help do it easily. You can use rubbing alcohol from the drug store to take out ink stains, as long as they have not set. The alcohol neutralizes the pigment in the ink so it disappears. [edit] StepsHairspray will disolve ink right away then wash out later (air dry to be sure it's out before drying with heat which would set it in) if that doesn't work, try the following When the ink stain has just happened, immediately blot the ink to remove the wet spot, then pre-wash. Dip a clean cotton swab into rubbing alcohol. Dab at the ink mark with the cotton swab. Repeat this each time with a second step with a fresh cotton swab, as many times as needed. Dip another fresh cotton swab into cold water and dab the area to remove the alcohol from the fabric. Allow the area to dry. Most small ink stains on clothing or materials will be removed by simply applying hair spray on the stain. This will cause the ink to dissolve and it then it might be easily blotted out of the material. Soak, and wash. For really tough ink, either Dry-Erase whiteboard cleaner or water-based Goof Off 2 make a good pre-wash to quickly loosen the ink. For really serious ink stains OXY-CLEAN is the only real way to ensure that all ink will be removed. Permanent marker can also be removed from clothes that have already been laundered with this product. [edit] TipsTry not to get ink on your clothes. Always blot rather than rub. For whites, dip a cotton swab lightly in bleach, and lightly dab the ink or other spots. Wash. Make sure the cotton swab is barely wet, do not make it very wet. Goop hand cleaner has successfully removed heavy ink stains from dress shirts. [edit] WarningsOXY-CLEAN may not be safe for all colors. Goop hand cleaner has not been thoroughly tested. my pleasure! :D
