hello all. my boyfriend just took our car to his shop to do a trans fluid change and rear brakes. well he used this lift with 4 feet that you can position around and the lift uses hydrolics. well it went up fine but it wont go down now it will go down a little bit but it stop and one side starts to go down. he did everything right almost breaking his hand pulling the safty lever to disenguage the locks. please help. i have to work monday and i miss my car!!
Raise the lift back up and then release the safety locking mechanism that keeps the car from dropping. All hoists have these safety locks on them. Raise it up and hold the release and then lower the vehicle while holding the release all the way down. I'm an auto mechanic by the way.
Most lifts have a safety lock on each side that you have to disengage to lower the vehicle. If yours still won't lower I would look for a 1-800 number on the lift or look up the manufacturer online to find out if they have a technical assistance hotline.
