Question:

HELP! My hair won't grow anymore!! How can I help my hair to grow again?

Most of my life I had long hair that also grew very quickly and, at the age of 20, my hair came to the middle of my back (just under by bra line). Unfortunately, I made a bad decision at this time and let a neighbor do my hair and, as a result, my hair was fried, felt like straw, and I had to get it chopped off all the way up to my chin! Well, now 6 years later, my hair has only grown to my collarbone. I look back at pictures of myself from a year or two ago and it does not look much longer at allit's very frustrating as I just want my long hair back! Is there anything that anyone knows of that works to help this? I've know that there is no quick fix or miracle cure but I am looking for some advice that someone has tried and knows workseven if it will take a bit. I'm just hoping for growth of more than an inch a year, which is about the rate it seems to have gone since I had to cut my hair. Thanks!! :-)

Copper pipe with a long split? You can fix it by cutting out the split section and attaching another with compression fittings. That may run $20 if you have a hacksaw and two Crescent wrenches. Short splits can be fixed with a saddle clamp made for that application. It holds a length of rubber sheeting against the split and is tightened using a screwdriver. A more permanent repair on short splits can be made with a section of copper pipe the same size, kneadable two-part epoxy and two worm hose clamps. The pipe is trimmed to straddle the split 1 on each side the cut in two length-wise. Knock the split back if puckered out. Rough-up the inside of the cut pipe and where it'll cover with emory cloth or sandpaper. The kneadable epoxy should come in a tube and resemble a big long caramel candy log with a different colored center. Cut off about a third and knead it together for the rated time so it'll become mixed and one color. Press that over the split and all around the pipe, then place the split pipe over that with one directly over the split. Set the worm clamps 1/2 in from the ends and tighten those until the epoxy starts squeezing out from the ends and between the sections. There you stop and let the epoxy cure a few hours before turning the water back on. PVC pipe is easy. Just need a section of pipe, two unions, the PVC primer and glue plus a hacksaw. Gotta work fast getting those set so you may need to read up on-line for doing that. There's also the option of using a telescoping PVC repair splice which is secured by tightening the ends by hand. Those are commonly used for lawn irrigation systems. Galvanized iron pipe splits can be fixed with the saddle clamp or epoxy method if short.
