HELP!!! Springform pan cant close up properly?

i bought a springform pan yesterday but today when i try to clip the edges together they wont go all the wayso the bottom is loose, what can i do?

Answer:

Geesh when was that article written? There aren't many cans that even contain tin anymore and in the US all cans are coated on the inside, if you look you can see itWhen I was a kid, it was true, because cans were mostly tinNow you will lose flavor and nothing should be keep in a refrigerator uncovered but it wouldn't be harmfulIt is just as easy to transfer the contents to a plastic container as it is to try to get plastic wrap to stick Even the health department allows storage in opened cans as long as they are properly sealedMany restaurant cans come with plastic lids(Jams and Jelly and chocolate sauce are 3 I remember quickly.
I don't knowbut I'm curious to see what the answer ismy grandma always told me that when I was littlebut she also told me the little tiny seeds on strawberries were bugsso grandma might not be the most reliable when It somes to that sort of thing.
Make sure that the bottom is seated in the ridge at the bottom of the edgeIt sometimes comes out a bit when you try to clamp it closedI found that if the bottom is bent a bit it does not close well eitherIf you can't get it to close properly and you can not exchange it before you have to use it try forming a double layer of aluminum foil around the bottom of the panThat may seal it enough that the pan wont leakGood luck, they can be tricky.
