My 5 year old son has big ideas about being Diesel 10 - the mean engine with the big claw pincher on his back - for Halloween. Of course the claw is the key, and I'd love some creative ideas of how to make it. I'm not much for sewing. Thanks!
Ooooh, thats a tough one! Can you buy a toy excavator, large Tonka type made of sturdy plastic, and remove the arm and claw? Maybe look in consignment shop or yard sales. For the body, maybe you can take a large appliance box and paint it the khaki color of Diesel 10, with a gray face on the front and his grumpy expression. Spray paint paper plates black and glue on for the wheels...you're just doing the front of the train car, not the whole long thing. then attach the arm and claw to a shoulder area of the box since you cant easily attach it to a childs head like the original diesel 10.
