Question:

Hi I have had a dual fuel system installed, wood burning fire which works along side a gas boiler.?

The company that installed the system have now gone pop, great! All the hard work has been done i just need some help with wiring the contact thermostat to activate the new pump under the boiler. So when the wood burning fire does not reach to the correct temp the gas boiler is supposed to kick in.Any ideas on the wiring would be fantastic at present i have the boiler connected to a socket on the wall and there is a cable coming from the new pump under the boiler and a cable connected to the contact thermostat which need connecting up to something. any ideas please help.

Answer:

Sorry, but we'd have to know a lot more about that system to offer responsible advice. If the gas boiler is set up to maintain a constant water temp., then all your thermostat has to do is activate the pump, but that's far from the most efficient system, (unlikely unless your hot water comes from a coil/heat exchanger in/from the gas boiler).
You need an H-VAC technician. This is not a do-it-yourself project
i'm uncertain what the knob is, yet I actually have a gas hook up in mine, and it fairly is used to initiate the firewood with. a hearth starter pipe? is expounded to the valve working into the firebox. The pipes are a million/2 inch black pipe, working different lengths with holes drilled into them. they are sealed on one end of the pipe, and characteristic a thread on the different end. Mine is expounded making use of a black a million/2 elbow from the valve, then down making use of a a million/2x 3 nipple, yet another a million/2ell,then the starter pipe. you need to use any length nipple to run it greater beneficial returned. you will possibly no longer ought to divert it,I ought to because of the fact the gas inlet is in the direction of the front of the firebox. Did I make any sense? On yours although, it might no longer be a fairly timber burning hearth. they have been outlawed to place right into a sparkling domicile in California. Or so as that's what I even have heard. they are actually only setting up gas log fireplaces in new homes, and additionally you will possibly be able to't burn actual timber in them. verify to be sure in the adventure that your chimney has a metallic lining, or is all brick. as quickly as I see them construction new homes, they make all the chimneys making use of only a metallic lining,or flashing.Mine is solid brick.wish this helps. Merry Christmas, Byee
