Question:

high chair help?

how do i get my girl who is 3 1/2 and is soon to be 4to get out the high chair and go to booster seat!if i put in a booster seat she sceams what to do?

Answer:

Well if you don't have a high chair that will just scoot up to the table. I would just remove the high chair when she is asleep so she doesn't see you do it. Then when she wakes up and it's not there, give her a reason you think she will accept,,,, it broke, you gave it to Santa Claus to give to another kid. lol. I don't know. It may take her a few days to get over it. But with kids, the whole out of sight, out of mind things works well. Just don't give her the option. Thanks, I hope this helped.
I never had that problem, my daughter never goes in the high chair and more (maybe because of her little brother now) she's almost 3. We did have a problem with her sitting in a normal seat because she wouldn't sit down and we finally got a bosster that is almost the same as a high chair. If you get a booster with a tray and put the highchair away for a while (out of sight- out of mind) maybe that will help. she will still feel confined in the booster with a tray and that may be what she needs for now. Good luck.
I would try hiding the highchair...out of sight out of mind...when she asked what happened to it say something like it was for babies and you're a big girl now...make the booster seat fun...if you use your seat we'll do this when your done eating...or maybe tell her she's allowed to use the highchair until she's 4, and then she's a big girl and has to use the booster seat...that way she kinda knows it's coming...I hope this helps! Good luck
Just tell her she is going to do it. Yes, she may scream, but she'll get over it if you just ignore her. Tell her that the high chair is for babies and she is no longer a baby. My daughter is 2 and she's been out of the high chair for about 3mo. now. She didn't like the idea at first because we kept the high chair in visible view. We finally put the high chair where she couldn't see it anymore and then she realized she didn't have an option. Throw it out or put it somewhere she's not going to see it and tell her that you guys threw it away because she was too big for it. She won't have any other choice then and don't give in.
I bought a Graco high chair, and really like it. Especially the dishwasher-safe removable tray insert. It makes it so easy to clean up, Which is completely important in my life. It reclines, has adjustable heights, and moves easily with wheels. And we liked the colors. However, my two year old is getting big, and so we just had to go out and buy a booster seat for her. That being said, if I were going to buy a brand new high chair for my 6 week old, I would go with the Graco Blossom, because it would last longer. It's more expensive, but it does everything a regular high chair does, and has a booster seat, too. And I like how safe Graco items are.
