Question:

High Efficiency Gas Furnace Savings? Worth Updating?

I am looking to buy a home here in Dayton, OH that is about 3000 sqftbut has high gas and electric heating and cooling billsIt has a Trane Furnace and air system, but I don't know how old the unit is yetMy question is: How much of a savings have you noticed by changing from a less efficient gas furnace to one of the newer high or ultra high efficient models. Thanks, Steve / OHIO

Answer:

I would ignore that previous statement.some companies are better than others.in how its built, options and pricing I have an Injen IS intake.its short ram but the amazing thing about that company is when Im able I can buy the cold air extension and throw it through the bumperWhen I bought it i couldnt afford a full CAI and I wanted to do some other engine work first.Im so glad I went with the option that offered the extensionIt was cheap too!
15% or more on replacing equipmentIf it has higher utility bills than normal I would have home checked out for how well its sealed and insulatedAttic insulation is easiest place to check and improve.
