High fiber diet to help IBS?

Hi,I am 16 years old, female, 5'5quot; and 135 poundsI need to lose like 10-15 pounds to feel healthyI have IBS and I have been experiencing symptoms for about 2 years nowI have also gained like 15 pounds in the last two yearsMy GI told me to go on a high fiber lifestyle/diet, what are some good meal plans and meal ideas for this? Also, I am very active, so what are some ideas to lose weight on this diet.

Answer:

You can lay plywood on the joists-but you can't box in everything up there-and you may not be able to use the attic because an attic is an insulating space for your homeIt will be cold up there in the winter, and way WAY too hot in the summer-finishing an attic is more than just laying down a floor and using the spaceYou may not be able to build around the fixtures-pipes, wires, etcAnd you may not want to-with all that fiberglass insulation up there, you'll have breathing problems and it could be very dangerous to stay thereCall a licensed contractor and ask what might be involved before trying to do anything on your own.
You have to consider theweight on the rafters before doing any of thisTo support a crowd of people the rafters may want to be strengthened.
I am on a low glycemic diet and I have lost almost 30 pounds since January As far as what you should eat you should really discuss this with your doctorI don't want to give you bad instructions I will tell you what has helped me because I have metabollic syndrome and IBS both are from a poor diet I eat whole grain breads, cereals and snacks I avoid pasta including rice I avoid chips and fried foods I was told not to eat bananas I drink a lot of water Avoid juices with added sugarseat fresh fruits and veggis avoid frozen foods and snacks that is a diet that is rich in fiber and that will help you lose weight as well Again, I do encourage you to talk to YOUR doctor to make sure it is a good diet for YOU
