ive never actually smoked in my own room :| should a joint set off the fire alarm ?my plans are to smoke this joint get high and play COD3 all nite :P
Near the furnace or at the bottom of the stairs so you can hear it upstairs.
a smoke detector goes where the smoke will flow, ie on the ceiling, between the likely source of smoke and the door. Ours is on the landing ceiling outside the bedroom. CO is different. This should not be on the ceiling but on a wall near where you are, about 3 or 4 feet off the floor. When you test these, put ear defenders or ear plugs in, they are VERY LOUD!! as above, it is better to have more than one of each. the best smoke detectors are linked so if one goes off they all do.
If you drove your car in to the shop there should not be a problem with you driving it out of the shop whenever you wish. Without knowing what sort of paperwork you may have signed, there's no way of knowing what you may owe the shop at this point.
If you have a furnace in the basement, the carbon mono unit should be close to, but not right next to it. If people sleep downstairs the smoke detector should be close to their bedrooms. If no one sleeps down there then put it in a central location in the basement.
