Two competitive hardware stores...which one is better and why?
Home Depot has a great return policy, no questions asked, also good warranty. After we go pounded by a hurricane in NC the next AM at 7 Lowe's was open and had employees leading customers in the store with flash lights. Location is the deal, I have been in Lowe's and never gotten help or been told by the employee that he doesn't work in that section. Guess he was hiding out. Questions on windows, same deal. Home Depot has always been helpful and helped me load things, in Lowe's I had to load my own cement and take it to load it in my car---as in 12 bags.
Lowe's. Hands Down. Home Depot Customer Service sucks.
Really, it all depends on what you want. If your looking for toys for the home and garden, i.e. lawnmowers and other appliances then i'd go with Home Depot, for plants and things of that nature i like Lowes. But the best thing to do is to check the newspaper and see who has the best deals on what you need at the time. Alot of times, if you show one store an ad from a competitor, they will match that price or at least offer a discount. So just like when shopping for clothes or groceries, use your smarts and find the bargain. Fyi...never buy anything during the week, wait until Sunday and see what's on sale and then make your purchases otherwise, you may end up like me, buying something only to see it in the paper on Sunday for alot less than i just paid for it.
Ok, I worked at Home Depot for 4 years, and I could tell you, you couldn't pay me to go back to working for that company. The Depot is so worried about the bottom line that they cut hours back so bad, and yyou can't ever find help. I now work for Lowes, and I love it, we never cut hours, we have the same things Home Depot has, at a lower price, and we have so many things you'll never find at HD. I love Lowes, and not just cause I work there, it's just a great store.
Home depot is cheaper on most things ,,i only go to lowes for hard to find hardware bits and things on sell i used to get contract supply bids from lowes and then go to home depot to get them to beat the bid by ten percent they will do that at each place on a whole 16 or 20 square roof job thats about 150.00 OK painter 27 years
