Answer:

Depends on how it was installed. If a starter kill feature was installed, then yes, simply cutting power to the alarm brain will make the car unable to start. Why is this so? Well the why is as others have said. These are designed to protect your car from theft. If a thief could just snip a couple wires and drive away with your car, then the alarm doesn't do much good does it? The how goes like this. The car's key cylinder has a wire tied to the starter. When you turn the key, this wire gets power and applies it to the starter. Well during installation, the installer cuts this wire in half. The alarm has one wire that connects to the half right at the key cylinder and another wire that connects to the half going to the starter. So now the alarm basically sits inline with the starter wire. When the car is unarmed, a relay activates and connects the two wires, thereby allowing power to pass through (whenever it's applied by turning the key). Without the alarm allowing power to pass through this wire, you can't start the car. If you want to just rip out the alarm, that's fine. But make sure you just connect the two ends of the starter wire back together (as if factory).
It's for a report? You've asked this before, more than once. Shouldn't your report be done by now?
My best guess would be to go to an automotive store or a household/home repairs store and ask if they carry silicone lubricant. Since it is used on rubber joints often, the lubricant is probably located at both stores. Sorry I don't know more! Edit: Ace Hardware sounds like a great place. Best of luck.
