Hmm, I wonder if he is the guy I work with? Something is very wrong if he is choosing to sleep on the couch rather than simply clean himself up. You need to consider that he might have a mental problem. I'm not kidding or freaking out too muchit often is the case that people who suddenly stop bathing have some issue. Encourage him to talk to his doctor and INSIST that he clean himself up. It may be safe short term. Go buy a stud and take it back to have the tire company to change it. It will also cause that wheel to be out of balance. They probably left the head of the bolt in place. If it works out it can ruin your brakes. Don't listen those running around with a known problem. Maintenance is for a reason and luck is simply that, luck. If they said that you would be safe, they have just extended themselves to legal liabilities.
