Online ordinations (through the Universal Life Church or whatever) are ONLY valid to perform weddings in California. You'll either need to become a minister or pastor of an established church or become a justice of the peace. Or you could save yourself a lot of trouble and just give a speech, toast, or blessing at the wedding, instead of trying to officiate it.
